I went to Amazing Auto Repair for about 5 years. During that time, they took care of my car and then my partner's car. Every time I took my car in for routine service or emergency repair, the Amazing Auto crew came through. I was in my early 20s when I starting going to them, and I was nervous because I had less than stellar experiences. I never once felt uncomfortable or like I was getting half of the information that I needed. Patrick, Damon, and the rest of the staff are genuinely first rate. These folks are honest and you can really trust their process. Car repairs can be really expensive, but their options for payment plans really made things affordable- especially as someone who has less than stellar credit, I had OPTIONS. During hard financial times, I was still able to get back on the road so that I can take care of my family. The only reason I am no longer taking my vehicles to this shop is because I moved out of the state. Now that I am struggling to find another mechanic where I live now, I realize how unique this shop compared to others in the USA. I will never recommend another mechanic for anyone living in Austin. They TRULY are the best that you'll find. THANK YOU ALL SO SO MUCH!

I highly recommend Amazing Auto Repair. I couldn't be happier with the friendly and efficient staff, the work quality, reasonable price, and clear communication. While traveling through Austin with my teenage nephews, we hit some debris in a construction zone on 35 and knocked off the oil pan, leaving the car undrivable. I randomly called the nearest mechanic shop listed on google and found Amazing Auto. Patrick and Jake went above and beyond to help us out by arranging a tow truck, rescuing us from the side of the road, and even giving us a ride to the rental car office. They repaired my car quickly and dealt with the insurance company, updating me on the progress on a regular basis. They did a stellar job making a stressful situation much less stressful than it could have been.

Patrick has helped me from day one, they took very good care of my 2010 Cadillac STS when she was leaking oil found out it was the oil pan gasket. This was not a light job to do on my vehicle as they almost have to lift the engine completely out to do it and I just took my vehicle back to them again for my alignment and I'll be going back for more to do list from the inspection they did during the gasket. I highly recommend this place to anybody who lives in the area or anybody who even doesn't I just wants a trusting mechanic to go to who doesn't charge you a complete arm and a leg like the dealerships.

Easily the best shop I’ve ever taken my van to. They were very thorough, professional, and prices were affordable too. Customer service is outstanding and they made sure to show and explain everything going on with my van. They really go out of the way to take care of the customer. For me they did a courtesy inspection to catch all the issues my van might have in addition to the original issue, with a nice detailed write up and photos. Even little stuff like vacuuming the floorboard means a great deal. I wish I lived in the area because if I did, this would be the only shop for me ever again!

Amazing Auto Repair & Transmission did it AGAIN! :D They repaired my locking housing for the ignition switch this time. It was unfortunately causing a non-start issue. Also - I needed a 2nd key made and programmed. They saved me the hassle by having a guy come out and do that while it was at the shop being worked on. These guys are great! When my car engine overheated, I called them (near closing time) and Patrick advised me on what to do, such as turning on my heater to blow excess heat from my engine, waiting around 30 minutes to let the engine cool down, etc. He aided me in getting my car to the shop (towed, so I didn't have to risk driving it), and even helped me after hours. I love the fact that they give you a run-down on what they find upon inspecting your car. It was very comprehensive! They fixed my car very quickly and were so kind at check-out! If something happens to my car again, these guys are my go-to!

They discussed concerns and didn't try to sell me on "replace now" kind of approach but had discussions on recommendations. All in all was very happy. The only negative I had is I am not a big fan of just blindly scheduling service on a website. I would rather talk to a human and have them do it. Just a minor negative though.

I found this place by accident. Driving home from the grocery store and passed by. I gave them a call and their staff was friendly and efficient, and had me scheduled in no time! This company does not seek to bleed you dry, I went in for an oil change and there was oil buildup and the tech came in and showed me what it looked like and what was needed to correct the issue mind you I had taken my vehicle to the dealership I got it from and they were charging me over $3600.00 to replace the motor instead of saying this is what you can do to fix the issue before it gets out of control and at a point of no return. I have reserved from writing a review since I believe one cannot judge the work or character on someone or company on just one job. Amazing has worked on three of my vehicles after I decided to avoid the dealers since I could never get them to work on my vehicles without having to make an appointment a week before then told that they had fallen behind on work and my car would not be worked until a later date. To top this, I needed to leave the car there to assure that my car would be serviced as mechanic sluts became available. I can honestly say that Amazing has completed all repairs on each occasion to my satisfaction, on time and at affordable rates. Patrick at the front desk is very knowledge about what work is needed and how much it cost to do the repairs. He has also suggested on two different occasions not to spend the money on repairs not needed at the time I thought they were due for replacement (break pads). I have much more to share but this is turn out to be a novel. Thrust me, they’ll do you right.

The shuttle service is also a nice incentive, I feel like this is becoming an industry standard if it isn’t already and it’s nice to see that Amazing works hard to be Amazing for their customers. Recently my car’s timing chain skipped leaving me needing a completely new cylinder head assembly. This is a known, common issue with Audi Q5. There was even a class action law suit against them yet the only thing Audi did about it was give me a $11,000 quote to fix it. The crew at Amazing has helped me out on a couple of occasions with my '15 Ford Mustang EcoBoost. I had an issue with my AC line developing a leak after I put an aftermarket turbo in my car, and not only did they replace the line, they also added in some extra heat shielding to prevent the issue from re-occurring. They also helped me out with diagnosing a bad idle in the car as well. They always kept me informed about what they were doing and what it would cost, and they let me make the calls on whether or not to perform certain troubleshooting/work. In short, I was never caught by surprise with unexpected charges or a higher than expected bill. It's good when you can trust the shop you bring your car into.

These guys were amazing! The last time I had car issues was many moons ago, but I remember I lived in south Austin and spent almost over 500 dollars at Austin automotive. You know, the one in all the radio and tv commercials and advertised everywhere. Probably how they get the capital for that. Any who, as a female, it’s really easy to get haggled for money, and well just as a human who has little to no knowledge about car issues. I did not feel that way about amazing auto at all. That is mainly why I’m leaving a review. I’m super grateful and thankful for that and so is my father. We will definitely keep coming back for maintenance and tune ups. Oh. Did I mention that I texted, yes texted them at 8:45pm (after hours) and had triple A tow my car that same day at like 9pm had them put my key in a lock box so it could get worked on the morning after? I recently bought my vehicle in to check the AC my air was always cold but this year it was not. It was closing time, about 4 pm on a Friday. The head mechanic said he wishes auto parts stores wouldn't sell freon to do it yourself mech because they always overfill the systems. My system called for 1.8, it had almost 4. Amazing Auto Repair is by far the BEST auto shop I've ever been to. The name definitely fits them well. I saw a sign for low cost oil change $18.95, and went there for only that. I knew I had some major issues, but... Amazing auto probably saved my life. The techs did their inspection while doing the oil and noticed the CV was cracked and the wheel bearing needed replacing. I mean my car was so unsafe to drive, I could have drove off the highway any day. The manager told me that if he could recommend anything, it would be to hold off on the low and old oil, and to fix the two major issues now. I was scared that the cost for parts with labor would be around $2 grand. Talk about the complete opposite. He gave me a quote of $695 for everything. DEAL!!... I base all my prices off my mechanic friend who charged me $160 for a 5 minute job to fix my sunroof... Not only are the prices wonderful and afforable here, but the staff are on point and knowledgeable. The inspections, they send through the email and text with pictures to give a visual to relate to. For example, they have a test kit for the fluids that they use to show which ones need to be serviced. To top off the most memorable auto experience ever, go take your car in for your first service, and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. The atmosphere is unique and top of the line. Don't forget the amazing music, complimentary coffee and water! I hope this really helps in making a rational decision. If you're looking for a local shop to give your money to, rather than a chain... Please support our community.

Really awesome place to take your vehicle! Bought a clutch kit online, called around to more than 6-7 shops and they quoted me lowest. I've taken my truck here twice and both things they have been extremely honest. The first time I had transmission fluid blowing all over the engine bay and under the truck with smoke everywhere. These guys are amazing. The name is true! I went for a 100k check up on a 10 year car and they could have easily tried to jack up my prices and claimed a whole bunch of problems on my car but they didn't. I had a breakdown on my '02 Escape commuter and after towing it to Amazing Auto Repair (after-hours, staffed drop-off, and they let me chill in their CLEAN lounge with WiFi while waiting for a ride) Patrick sent me an incredibly detailed diagnostic report (with pics!). He worked with me to tailor the work done to fit my budget and requirements. I dropped my car off thinking I needed new spark plugs and new brake pads. My brakes were making this horrible hissing sound every time I braked and it was getting harder and harder to push it all the way down to make my car stop. They let me know my pads were only 50% gone, but my brake booster was leaking air hence the hissing and difficulty braking. They were very quick, it only took a few hours. Customer service was great. I can not comment on the pricing as I did not compare prices with other places. I felt they didn't pressure me to do anything and they were very up front and honest with their findings so I appreciated that. They're only a mile down the road from my house and with the great service and my car working so well now I will definitely be back if I have any other issues! Thank you!

The people in this shop are really really really amazing and their treatment of you is like second to none. My car completely died for no reason and i got towed here, they run through the computers and found absolutely nothing wrong with and had the car running again even though i couldn't do that on my own. Other shops that i know of would have created an issue just so that they can fix it and grab the money from you. But here every one is honest and Damon gave me ride to home and even to give me a ride to work until it was looked at and fixed. I have never seen mechanics treat me this well, so honestly. It really helps to bring your car here and have the guys here take a look at it. It is a family run business and that makes a lot of difference when you compare with those corrupt corporate guys like firestone and others. Thank you guys!!!

They had to keep it a few days for testing on the engine - which I totally understand. And didn't expect. But, I have no doubt about my engine's condition. The nature of the problems that were repaired could have seriously damaged it. I'm *glad* they took the time to run the tests to make sure. I wasn't sure what to expect at first, but, no other shops can compare to these guys. This crew is one in a million.

These guys constantly go above and beyond. We discovered hem by happy accident when driving to the park and stopped in to inquire about an oil change. They took great car of our vehicle, and we brought other vehicles to them since. They helped us fix a part on our cruise control that another ship deemed unrepairable. AAR also helped us diagnose an issue with our brakes that a previous shop had claimed to have repaired, but hadn't. It could have been a very risky trip cross country had they not spotted the used parts! We bought a used car in San Antonio for our youngest son who's getting ready to turn 16. No sooner did we get it home to Round Rock before we started noticing there were things wrong with the vehicle. We tried to contact the dealer we bought if from, but they hid behind the "As Is" clause in the paperwork.We took the car to Damon at Amazing Auto and he performed a comprehensive vehicle inspection which discovered several things wrong with it (LESSON LEARNED: Do the inspection BEFORE you buy the car!) Anyhow, Damon gently broke the news to us that the front transfer case needed to be rebuilt and that the #3 cylinder was misfiring| among other things. Yikes!Damon and his crew worked hard to fix the transfer case and various other fixes. Damon kept us informed of the progress throughout the process--whether it was good news or bad news, and even came in a little less expensive on the transfer case fix than he estimated.Unfortunately the #3 cylinder ended up requiring dealership-specific service because of the special equipment required to service the engine, but Damon was able to pretty much diagnose the root cause of the problem so it was easy to explain to the dealership when we took it in.We totally feel like Damon took care of our son's car as if it were his own. We feel confident that we can let our son drive this car without any concerns about its mechanical safety and reliability because of the work Amazing Auto Repair performed on it!Damon helped make a bad situation less painful than it could have been if we had taken the car to a shop whose only concern would have been to make a lot of money on the repairs. I started to hear a grinding sound when I applied my brakes and thought it a good idea to get them checked out. I remembered Amazing Auto from a positive experience a few years back. I called them up and was told they do a free brake inspection and could determine exactly what I needed. The only problem was I couldn't stay and wait for the work to be done. My daughter is a student at UT Austin, she has her little beater car that gets her around. Recently, it would not start. The first place she went diagnosed the problem and was going to charge her over $700 to replace the battery and cables. She towed the car back home and a friend replaced the battery. I had taken my Dodge Neon to another repair shop and had been told that I needed a new transmission. I did not want to pay high price the shop had quoted me so I found a used transmission and called around for a price to just install the transmission for me. I looked around on Google Maps and clicked through some of the shops in the area. Most had only a few reviews or they had some seriously alarming bad reviews. Some places just looked outright uncared for. Then I clicked on Amazing Auto Repair and was wowed by all the positive reviews! I then headed over to their website and looked around. They really made sure to show you who they are, what they are about, and how they want to do it right to keep you coming back. So I gave them a call and they said bring it over and we will take a look at it. As a side note: The building you see on Google street view is an old photo, their building is brightly painted with red and yellow. I arrived and they took it in immediately. Rick was the tech who checked out my issue. As I suspected I had warped rotors on the front. Rick then double checked my back drums and shoes (which I had another shop do 6 months prior) and found that they were done improperly! He didn't just tell me this, he had me come into the shop area and showed me exactly what he found and why he knows it's wrong! After hearing his detailed explanation I knew I needed that done. He recommended I get it done but I was under no pressure what-so-ever. They gave me my quotes (I also got a new serpentine belt since I already knew prior to coming that was cracked) and the price was very fair. They said you can get some of the work done, all of it, or none of it. Again, no pressure. I took a few moments going over the quote and decided to go through with it all. I am so glad I did! When I picked up my car I took it up and down the highway to test it out. Oh man everything was running smooth and happy! My car felt great and I felt great. I can't recommend this place enough! They are trustworthy, upfront, and honest! I hope someone in need of repairs reads this and makes the choice to try Amazing Auto Repair out! You will not regret it! Well, you REALLY don't know the character of a shop until you have a problem and I can tell Damon and Co. have good character which you can't find often these days.I had a major transmission rebuild with them on my Honda Pilot over a year ago and when an issue came up with it recently, Damon did everything reasonable to make it right. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The manager in particular, Damon, was very honest, informative, and accommodating. He let me know what he recommended for my car, and explained in detail why and when for each suggestion, as well as some friendly conversation. The waiting room is very nice with a big screen TV, wireless internet, water, and a play area for children if you have them. I took my 2006 Acura TSX in to get some brake work done, and their prices are very reasonable compared to other places I have gone. The wait was not too long, and my brakes are now working great with no more squeaking nor grinding sounds. I was very happy with the service and my overall experience. I definitely recommend this place and will continue to get any car repairs done here. It is by far the best place I have been to in the Austin area.

I live close by and they were kind enough to offer me a ride upon turning my vehicle in, but their waiting room has a pretty sweet car couch that was plenty comfortable so I stayed. They have complimentary water, a big screen TV, wireless access, and a little play corner for kids. They removed repairs from the quote that were deemed unnecessary, which I appreciated. Most importantly, no more bleeding ears from a high pitch squeal out of my truck. What more could you ask for? Maybe a monster truck tire ottoman to go with the couch. ‘Amazing Auto Repair is just that: amazing. I was told by Large Mega-Corporation that my alternator was the reason that not one, but two batteries had died in quick succession. Finally, I e-mailed Damon at Amazing and he not only gave me a low installation fee but when I brought my car in they ran diagnostics on my alternator to make SURE that was the problem before they installed anything - and it turned out that I didn’t need a new alternator at all. The real culprit was a bad battery and a Large Mega-Corporation that didn’t want to admit fault. Amazing Auto Repair actually kept me from spending any money. I've been there a couple of times and had wonderful experience compared to other places. I've never been charged a fee to check my engine light at all. I took it to Autozone who does NOT give you info on the light, they just print out codes of what it could possibly 'be'. I then took the code list to Amazing Auto repair and they were able to take out the part and just clean it good and put it back in vs replacing it. That was over a yr ago and still no issues. Today, I stopped by for motor mount quote and am dropping it off tomorrow. They are less expensive than major auto places that have more of an overhead that you are paying for. This shop is grade A in my book. I broke down on the side of the road and after calling several mechanics that I found in the yellow pages I took a risk on these guys. They came right away and towed my car, gave me the best price in town, replaced the clutch, and were very respectful and straight forward in the process. I have found as a female that some shops are inclined to condesend however these guys simply listened to my problem and diagnosed it right away. Very refreshing. They were honest, prompt, and the car drives so well I almost have to re-learn to shift properly becuase I had been driving on that worn down clutch for so long. It's like a brand new car! This was my second visit to Amazing Auto Repair| this time for a weak battery. These guys get a gold star for consistency. I was welcomed even without an appointment and they quickly checked out my battery and got a new one installed. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. I took my 2004 Toyota Tundra in for a timing belt change. Amazing Auto's price was great compared to two other shops I called. My truck has an interference engine which requires practically taking the entire engine apart. I was a bit nervous based on my internet research about how involved the job was but scheduled the appointment. Dropped my truck off and they were able to finish it same day. They also replaced the water pump and a couple of other things that I read on a Toyota forum should be done since the engine was torn apart. I left the following week for a two week driving vacation. The truck performed great! It even seemed to have a little better response when accelerating. My truck has 101,000 miles and I hope to put another 100k on it. I am a female and they were very patient to answer all the questions I had from my internet research. Seem very trustworthy and I would recommend them in the future.

My roommate went here and highly recommended it to me last summer. I took my truck in shortly after that when my A/C went out and got great service and a price much lower than anyone else around. I didn't hesitate to bring my truck in again this summer. Called, dropped my truck off in the afternoon, picked it up the next afternoon working great. They didn't try to sell me any fixes I didn't need, they just did what an auto repair shop should do...repair my auto. Fast, friendly, no hassle, low cost, honest, and a bunch of other good words that will sound cliche. To anyone ripping on them...I don't know what happened to you, but I'm 2 for 2 on good experiences here.

We were in despair when we realized that our 2007 Nissan Titan truck engine had to be replaced & other repair shops were quoting us between $9000 and $12,000 to replace it. We found Amazing Auto Repair online & Damon listened to our needs & immediately began researching how he could help us solve our problem. Damon gave us several different options and in the end, he & his team completely replaced our engine with a low mileage, warranteed gently-used engine for thousands of dollars less! My truck went kaputz on me the night I was supposed to leave for Arkansas to go see my friends and family. It was towed to my apartments, and the next day, AAA came to tow it to a repair shop. One of my buddies recommended Amazing Transmissions, and I trust his opinion, so I had it towed there. They were honest, and told me it may take a while because there were multiple problems with my truck. However, they made time to work on my truck and I was able to get it out of the shop and on the way to Arkansas in 3 hours without paying an arm and a leg. They charge less for labor, I only experienced the kindest service from Damon and his team, AND they even gave me a great deal 800 number for roadside assistance to ensure that my trip would be safe (since I used up all my service calls with AAA). This is definitely my new auto-repair shop.

They took the time to go from bumper to bumper and list everything that needed attention. (over one page) As my budget was limited they then took the time to explain what was the most critical. I have an 2003 acura tl that needed its motor mounts replaced. I was quoted $322 for labor and $363 for parts plus other fees at Christian Brothers. That sounded like a bs price so I decided that I would buy the parts myself and try and find a mechanic to do the work. I found Amazing Auto's ad on Craigslist and called them up to get a price. Damon and his team did it for $92...wow is right. Give these guys a chance, they are honest guys saving you a shitload of money.
